I taped @MarthaStewart show today. She has been my mentor for a long time. Air times  Friday, 12.23 at 10AM  2PM ,Monday, 12.26 at 1PM Eastern

This is like a dream come true! Two of my heroes interacting. I’ll definitely be watching at 2:00 p.m.

I shortened my nails (and I’ll never use Seche Vite again).

Three weeks ago, I bought Seche Vite topcoat. I had only heard terrific things about it and how fast it dries.

My first problem with it was the smell. The smell is so overwhelming when you open that tiny bottle. I was willing to overlook this small problem and I was super impressed with how fast my polish dried.

After about a week of using it, I noticed small changes in the quality of my nails. The most disturbing change was that for the first time in my life, my nail tips were peeling. Not all of them, only three. I immediately stopped using it. Two nails on my right hand ended up breaking at the corners.

I just wanted to get past that horrible experience, and last night I noticed my nails were finally long enough to shorten past the cracks.

So please bear with me as I grow out my nails again.

Monday, December 12, 2011 - essie walk down the aisle

My housemate gave this to me yesterday as an early Christmas present! It’s definitely one of my instant favorites. I love sheer polish SO much, but I’m often too afraid my “yellow glow” will shine through. I doesn’t with this polish. It’s like someone poured milk onto my fingernails.

I think this could look so many different ways depending on what color you did tips. White creme tips for a classy look, pearly white tips for a formal look, or any of Chanel’s spring shades for a fun look. I just love it.

My housemate went to a twilight convention on her birthday, so I made her these nails to match her dress. I thought they came out nicely.
